The Left truly has lost its collective mind.  But Maxine Waters descended into the crazy long before the rest of her party succumbed to Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Remember, it was Waters who claimed that Donald Trump should be impeached because he 'calls people names.'

But this latest sound byte from Auntie Maxine really takes the cake.



Maxine Waters doesn't just want Trump to be impeached. She wants him to be incarcerated and, as if it wasn't bad enough to send a 73-year-old innocent man to prison, she also wants him to be thrown in solitary confinement.

Solitary confinement is used primarily for two purposes. It is used to protect inmates who are at risk of being attacked by removing them from the general population and it is used to punish inmates who violate a prison's rules.

Human rights organizations have long held that solitary confinement as a punishment constitutes torture. Amnesty International is just one of many organizations that labels punitive solitary confinement as torture because of the psychological impact it has on inmates. It is also widely seen as a violation of the 8th Amendment's protection from cruel and unusual punishment.

The United Nations has released a number of studies looking into the damaging effects of prolonged solitary confinement, and now recommends that the punishment be avoided in all but a few select circumstances.

“Considering the severe mental pain or suffering solitary confinement may cause, it can amount to torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment when used as a punishment, during pre-trial detention, indefinitely or for a prolonged period, for persons with mental disabilities or juveniles,” the UN warns.

Remember back when Paul Manafort was put into solitary confinement in Rikers Island? Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demanded his release because she said that "a prison sentence is not a license for gov torture and human rights violations."

And yet, here we are with the Chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee calling on the President of the United States to be tortured. All for asking a foreign country to cooperate with a Federal criminal investigation...

Just this summer, Maxine Waters voted for an amendment put forward by Ilhan Omar reducing Federal prison funding to punish prisons for the use of solitary confinement as a punishment. Over the years, Maxine Waters has voted for a number of bills criticizing the punitive use of solitary confinement. It has long been the Democrat Party's position that solitary confinement can constitute torture.

When it came to courting Democrat voters, Maxine Waters recognized that solitary confinement was a form of cruel and unusual punishment. But when it comes to the President, someone who has committed no crimes, she believes that this torture would be deserved...
