The United States is the land of opportunity. Over generations, there have been millions of success stories; of people building themselves up from nothing.
At the bedrock of this American experiment of self-governance is the idea that you choose your future. We have equality of opportunity, not of outcomes. Every American has the right to fail just as much as he or she has a right to succeed.
That is something that the Left just doesn’t understand and it goes all the way to Barack Obama’s comment in the 2012 election: “you didn’t build that, somebody else made that happen.”
Now, the President is taking his policies of socio-economic engineering to your neighborhood and it is going to kill property values all across the country. Obama just enacted brand new regulations this morning to build housing projects in your community.
In case you hadn’t heard, the President thinks you’re a racist. If you live in a middle-class neighborhood, you’re a racist. There aren’t enough minorities in your neighborhood, so the President wants to bring in low-income housing to ‘balance the scales.’
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the new project to hold townships and cities’ federal grant money hostage unless they build more low-income housing. Where there’s a middle class household, Obama wants to build a housing project next door.
This is what is wrong with Liberalism. They want ‘equality of outcomes.’ Just for existing, they believe that everyone has a right to prosperity. HUD Secretary Julian Castro explains that “unfortunately, too many Americans find their dreams limited by where they come from, and a ZIP code should never determine a child’s future.”
Here’s the problem: ZIP codes don’t determine someone’s future… their political districts do. All across America, Liberal socio-economic policies are driving cities into the ground. Do you see what’s going on in Greece? Cities like Chicago and Detroit aren’t far off from that.
Democrats created the policies that created this crime and poverty and now they want to move these housing projects into your neighborhoods. To accomplish this, they are going to hold federal funding hostage and force communities to acquiesce. And the result will be the devaluing of your neighborhood.
It’s every American’s dream to get out of the cities and away from the drugs and crime that lead to systemic and perpetual poverty. Now, the Obama administration wants to punish this success and move the projects to your neighborhood.
If you care about your community and your home’s value, then you must FaxBlast Congress today and force them to stop this unconstitutional program!
