Whenever all eyes are on one piece of legislation -- like last week's ridiculously named "Heroes Act" -- I like to look and see what else Congress is trying to push through. Must-pass pieces of legislation are always used as misdirection to hide a more sinister proposal.

There were a number of bills introduced recently, using Pelosi's phase four bill as cover. But one of the worst that we have found so far is the Covid-19 Testing, Reaching, and Contacting (TRACE) Act (introduced by Rep. Bobby Rush D-IL, shown above).

I am not joking, the legislation has been assigned House Resolution #6666. Yes, the bill number is the sign of the beast...

There is a lot of speculation about what this bill would do. Democrats have gone out of their way to make the legislation seem harmless. But there is one line in the bill's text that has got liberty-loving Conservatives very nervous. The legislation would provide Federal funding to state, local, and non-profit organizations to do two things: (1) fund mobile testing centers and (2) "as necessary, testing individuals and providing individuals with services related to testing and quarantine at their residences."

Yes, the bill would use Federal funding to help "eligible entities" go into people's homes to facilitate "testing and quarantine."

Now, the liberal fact checkers are quick to point out that the bill also promises that no one's rights will be violated. That is true. However, considering that the Democrat Party also believes gun bans don't violate the 2nd Amendment and that there is nothing wrong with the Obama administration unmasking and investigating their political opponents... it's hard to really take any promise like that seriously. I do not believe for one second that $100 million can be spent to enforce in-home quarantines without anyone's rights being violated.

All of the conjecture aside, though, we know that this bill would give Federal money to help states, cities, and organizations come into people's homes to facilitate a quarantine. That is a fact.

And as we see how states are conducting "contact tracing" on their own without Federal funding, it is clear that if Congress passes this bill, innocent people's rights will be violated!

An Oregon salon owner named Lindsey Graham (no relation to the South Carolina Senator) decided last week that she couldn't afford to keep her salon closed anymore and joined others around the country in re-opening against their liberal governor's orders.

Almost immediately, she was hit with a 14,000 fine. That, she expected. However what came next shocked everyone. After Lindsey left for work one morning, a Child Protective Services agent showed up at her door and demanded to interview her 6-year-old daughter and check on the other two kids. The agent claimed that there had been a credible report filed against Lindsey Graham and CPS had to investigate the children's welfare.

The nanny refused to let the agent inside the home, but they returned a second time and insisted on interviewing everyone in the household. Not only did the CPS agent insist on interviewing Lindsey's 6-year-old son alone in a separate room, but the agent also inspected the entire home. They even searched inside the refrigerator and under the toilet seats... Lindsey was understandably terrified. She re-opened her salon to help her staff earn a living and pay their bills, and government seemed to use its child protective services powers to punish her.

But it isn't just happening in Oregon. Dr. Robert Levin, the Director of Public Health in Ventura County, California made waves last week when he announced that the county would begin its contact tracing program. He said that contact tracing would include making sure the government can "find people who have Covid-19 and immediately isolate them, find every one of their contacts [and] make sure they stay quarantined."

This wasn't fake news. Those were his words. After his comments went viral, Dr. Levin sought to clarify that his order would not be used to remove people from their homes. He claims that he misspoke, but immediately after, admitted that getting Covid-19 carriers out of their homes "is an option. That is possible."

This is happening. In other states like New Jersey and Orlando, divorced parents who are emergency responders have already been forced into court to fight for custody after their exes decided they didn't want them spending time with the children anymore. Other states have reportedly considered whether to remove children from the home if a parent were to test positive. To say that there are forces at work here trying to use the coronavirus as an excuse to tear families apart would be an understatement...

Where are leftist states getting these ideas? Apparently, the World Health Organization. In late March, Dr. Michael Ryan with the World Health Organization recommended that governments remove sick family members from their home.

His full quote: "In some senses, transmission has been taken off the streets and pushed back into family units. Now we need to go and look in families and find those people who may be sick and remove them, and isolate them, in a safe and dignified manner." He talks about safety and dignity, but makes no mention of protecting the individual's rights.

Trump cut off the WHO's funding. Now, Congressional Democrats want to pass this H.R.6666 to fund their radical policies themselves at the state and local levels...

That is why H.R.6666 scares me. As the old saying goes, "absolute power corrupts absolutely." We have seen all across the country how local politicians, county health officials, and even governors have used their emergency powers to impose tyranny on their populations.

There is no way around it: H.R.6666 would help to fund that tyranny and it cannot be allowed to pass!

H.R.6666 is moving forward. Pelosi is confident that not only will she get the votes in the House, but that there will be enough support in the Senate as well.

It has been shocking to see how the left has used the coronavirus as an excuse to trample on people's rights. This legislation would continue that tradition...
