Dear Conservative,

The internet as we know it is officially dead.

This week, the leftist-dominated D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Net Neutrality regulations were unlawful.

Net Neutrality is the idea that information on the internet must be accessible to everyone equally. Previously, FCC regulations made it illegal for internet companies to block access to certain websites or give preferential treatment to others.

Back in 2010, the FCC adopted these regulations to impose “Open Internet” rules that barred Internet Service Providers (ISPs) from blocking or “unreasonably discriminating” against lawful Web content. While Internet Service Providers like Comcast, AT&T, and Time Warner Cable have always been allowed to charge customers for internet access, they weren’t allowed to deliberately restrict subscribers’ access to legal Web content in order to make a profit.

However, thanks to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals which has been packed with Obama’s liberal judges, these internet companies are now free to deliberately restrict their customers’ access to Web content.

Now I know what you are saying. Perhaps this seems like a good thing to get the government out of regulating the internet. And in some ways, it could be seen that way. But this court case will also have wide reaching consequences for the Conservative movement and how we organize!

Tell Congress to STOP Internet Companies from restricting your access to legal web content!

What would happen if an internet company decided to stop Conservatives from visiting certain websites and organizing with one another? What would happen if you were stopped from visiting FoxNews.com or some other Conservative site, and instead redirected instantly to MSNBC.com?

This might seem far-fetched at first glance, but it is just a matter of time before internet providers drop the hammer on the Conservative movement!

Comcast is the country’s largest internet provider, servicing over 18 million internet customers alone. The company is also the sole owner of NBCUniversal, which subsequently owns television news channels like NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC. Everyone knows that MSNBC is at the bottom when it comes to TV ratings and web news content.

Well, thanks to the liberal D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, there is absolutely nothing to stop Comcast from restricting your access to websites like Fox News, or The Blaze, or Drudge Report. Internet service providers can now make access to conservative websites impossible or incredibly difficult, while simultaneously funneling customers to the news websites of its choosing. Whether to promote their own subsidiaries or their partners’ websites, internet service providers will inevitably restrict your access to certain websites. Or, they will erect electronic toll-booths where visitors must pay a toll before gaining access to their competitors’ websites.

This isn’t far-fetched. Internet Companies are already trying to do this by restricting access to other competitor websites like Youtube, Hulu, or Netflix and instead funneling users towards their own video streaming services. Given the number of ISPs connected to left-leaning websites and organizations, it is only a matter of time before Conservative websites are in the crosshairs. Think the internet companies care about your rights? Don’t forget that these are the same internet service providers that have been caught selling YOUR web history for millions of dollars to the National Security Agency!

If you think about it, it’s really in Comcast’s business interest to block your access to Conservative websites. Why would Comcast allow its direct competitors to gain advertising revenue when they can force you to visit their liberal news websites instead?

It’s not just Comcast, either… Time Warner Cable is the country’s third largest internet provider, servicing over 14 million customers in 39 states. Time Warner Cable owns and operates multiple news channels which, up until very recently, also included CNN!

Cox Communications provides internet to 4 million customers and also has connections with many news media companies. AOL owns the Huffington Post, Cablevision owns many regional news companies, and Cable One owns Slate.com and the Washington Post.

These are just a few of the country’s largest internet providers. While they might be guided primarily by profits, there is definitely a lot of money in politics. There’s also nothing to stop a wealthy liberal billionaire from acquiring an internet provider to promote his or her political agenda. In fact, just last year, George Soros entered the industry by investing over $80 million dollars into an internet service provider start-up. What he does with it remains to be seen…

Without a doubt, the threats to the Conservative movement are real! The Court’s decision to overturn the FCC’s Net Neutrality rules now opens up the door for internet providers to filter, alter, redirect, and even block the Conservative web content you rely on!

Tell Congress to STOP Internet Companies from restricting your access to legal web content!

After this court ruling, the internet will truly never be the same again. It’s plainly obvious how this ruling threatens the Conservative movement. Not only can ISPs now restrict your access to Conservative websites, but they can also stop like-minded conservatives from organizing or lobbying against their business interests!

Here at Conservative Daily, we have empowered tens of thousands of people to lobby Congress on behalf of personal liberty and other constitutional principles. A lot of the time, we find ourselves going up against big corporations who stand to make a lot of money from Obama’s rampant cronyism and big government spending. They want nothing more than to silence YOUR voice and maintain the status quo in Washington. The unfortunate truth is that there is money to be made in stopping conservatives from fighting for decreased spending and limited government. And as long as the internet service providers and their subsidiaries and allies stand to make a profit, they will take advantage of you!

We enjoy many freedoms in this country, one of which is the emerging freedom of information. Whether this needs to be a codified freedom or right is irrelevant. The advent of the internet has opened the door for endless possibilities when it comes to education and political organizing. Internet companies cannot put the genie back in the bottle and restrict Americans’ access to information.

The internet has revolutionized how conservatives interact with one another and organize politically. It took us a little longer, but we have finally caught up to the liberals in understanding the political utility of the internet. In just the last year alone, you have helped to send over 20 MILLION faxes to Congress to lobby for individual freedoms and a return to our founding principles of limited government! You have answered the call to defend the constitution from the liberal campaigns of entitlements and dependency on government!

Now everything that we have built is in jeopardy. Whether you realize it or not, you are a threat to the status quo and, subsequently, you are a threat to big business. While these mega corporations pay lobbyists millions of dollars every year to lobby Congress, Conservative Daily now allows your individual voice to be magnified throughout Capitol Hill. These companies fear you, and rightfully so!

You must Fax Congress now to defend your right to access the internet because it is only a matter of time before the Internet Service Providers move to silence your political voice!

Tell Congress to STOP Internet Companies from restricting your access to legal web content!

Sincerely,

Joe Otto
