The newest round of reckless spending legislation has been delayed until Congress returns from their spring break later this month. The vote has been postponed thanks to Senate Republicans that stopped the legislation from advancing due to the Democrats’ unwillingness to renew the soon to expire Title 42 policy.
Title 42 has been instrumental in minimizing the flow of illegal migration across the southern border. When Title 42 expires at the end of May, authorities expect to see a surge of illegal migration, the likes of which this country has never seen.
Senator Warren condemned Republicans for blocking the legislation!
“The Republicans are playing politics with the health of the American people,” claimed Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). “Blocking Covid protection money is a ticking time bomb for public health. So Democrats will come back and try to get the money we need, but this is not a good day for the health of the world.”
So the Democrats, like Warren, argue that the money in their proposed spending bill is vital to the “health of the world” yet support the expiration of Title 42.
Remind your Representatives that the health of OUR country depends on the security of OUR borders!
Democrats support spending more of your hard earned money but look the other way on the surge in violent crimes and drug overdoes that are directly related to illegal immigration!
As a reminder, a 24-year-old Honduran immigrant was recently charged with murder in the vicious stabbing death of a Florida man. The immigrant had crossed the US border illegally months earlier while posing as an unaccompanied minor. And in Arizona, border agents arrested a child rapist that illegally entered the country. The migrant, Edgard Antonio Gutierrez-Martinez, faces felony convictions for first degree child rape and incest. The migrant has now been turned over to US Marshals this morning to face prosecution.
Title 42 is the only policy measure helping to curb the spread of violent crime and drugs across our country. It is also vital in keeping the resurgence of COVID-19 in check.
If the Democrats are going to spend more of OUR money, Title 42 must remain in place indefinitely!
