I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the recent decision by the House to refer the motion to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Homeland Security Committee. Representatives Patrick Mchenry (N.C.), Tom McClintock (Calif.), John Duarte (Calif.), Virginia Foxx (Va.), Darrell Issa (Calif.), Cliff Bentz (Ore.), Ken Buck (Colo.), and Mike Turner (Ohio) have, in my view, betrayed the trust of the American people by failing to support a motion aimed at addressing a crisis that poses a direct threat to the security of our nation.

The border crisis, as you are undoubtedly aware, is an ongoing and evolving issue. The alarming statistic of at least 260,000 illegal border crossings in September 2023 alone is a clear indicator of the severity of the situation. This crisis extends beyond individuals from Mexico or South America, as individuals from Africa and the Middle East are reportedly taking advantage of our porous borders.

The lax enforcement of proper documentation procedures by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as admitted by the agency itself, further compounds the gravity of the situation. This failure allows practically anyone to enter our country without adequate scrutiny, posing a significant risk to our national security.

It is disheartening to witness the individuals entrusted with our nation's security, such as Secretary Mayorkas, failing to prioritize their responsibilities and actively participating in policies that contribute to the detriment of our nation. This lack of accountability and failure to address the pressing issues at our border is a grave disservice to the countless Americans who have already suffered as a result.

I implore you, as my representative, to take swift and decisive action in advocating for the reintroduction and passage of the motion to impeach Secretary Mayorkas. It is crucial that our elected officials prioritize the safety and security of the American people over political considerations. By supporting Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's motion, you send a powerful message that those who fail to uphold their duties will be held accountable.

The American people stand united in urging Congress to act in the best interests of our nation. We cannot afford to tolerate the neglect of duty and the compromising of our security any longer.
