We, the American people, who you pledged to represent, DEMAND action concerning the misconduct of Matthew M. Graves, the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia.

Matthew M. Graves is impeached for endangering, compromising, and undermining the justice system of the United States by facilitating an unprecedented explosion of violent crime in the Nation’s capital. Our Constitution, which you swore an oath to uphold, entrusts you with the power of impeachment. NOW is the time to exercise this power.

Graves has flagrantly violated his constitutional oath to faithfully execute his office, and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. By empowering violent criminals to terrorize Washington, D.C., he continues to materially endanger our justice system.

Instead of adhering to the oath he took to defend and secure our country and uphold the Constitution, Graves has shown an alarming level of negligence, declining to prosecute approximately 67% of individuals arrested by police officers in 2022. This marks a near doubling of the declination rate within the last seven years.

Graves has failed to uphold his oath, overseeing a catastrophic denigration of the principles of our justice system. Under his watch, crime has surged by a staggering 23%, and homicides by 30%. Murders in Washington, D.C. exceeded 200 in 2021 and 2022, a level of violence unseen since 2003.

Instead of prioritizing the prosecution of these crimes, Graves has diverted resources to prosecute more than 1,000 individuals who have been arrested for political protest for touring the U.S. Capitol. This flagrant abuse of power, seeking lengthy pretrial detention for political opponents, including those not accused of any violence, amounts to a systematic criminalization of political dissent.

In an outrageous admission, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco confessed that the Department of Justice has pulled prosecutors from critical cases around the country to prosecute such cases in Washington, D.C., prioritizing politics over justice.

Graves has proven himself to be nothing more than a tool of the Biden regime’s pro-crime, anti-democracy agenda. His inability to enforce the law demonstrates a pattern of conduct wholly incompatible with his duties as a civil officer of the United States. He has not just failed to uphold his oath, he has lost the trust of citizens of the United States to faithfully execute the laws of the United States.

Graves poses a clear and present threat to the justice system of the United States of America if allowed to remain in office, acting in a manner that is grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law.

Matthew M. Graves MUST face impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.
