When Alejandro Mayorkas was sworn in as the latest Secretary of Homeland Security, he swore the same oath as the 13 other men and women who held the post: he swore to faithfully uphold and execute the immigration laws of the United States.

In the six months since swearing that oath, Mayorkas has not even pretended to take it seriously.

The law is not being faithfully executed and the homeland is not secure.

Mayorkas has presided over the most radical shift in border policy this country has ever seen.

The Border Wall construction was suspended. Even when an independent agency review found the wall was necessary, Mayorkas decided to pay the contracted construction crews more money to NOT build the wall than the project actually would have cost...

Not only has Mayorkas suspended deportations, which a Federal judge ruled was unconstitutional, but he has sought to reverse Trump-era deportations. These are illegal alien criminals who had their day in court, were ordered removed from the country, and now Mayorkas wants to bring them back. More criminals are crossing the border than any other year in recent memory. Mayorkas' open border policy is emboldening cartels and gangs that had been on the run during the Trump years.

Amidst the worst border crisis in 20+ years, Mayorkas has reimplemented catch-and-release. But there are so many illegal aliens crossing the border now, they aren't even being given court dates. They are being released into the interior with instructions to turn themselves in at their destination city to begin their own deportation proceedings. No surprise, next to none of these released migrants are voluntarily beginning their own deportation...

Then there is the Covid-19 aspect. Recent data suggests more than 18% of illegal alien family units and 20% of unaccompanied minors have tested positive for the coronavirus right before they were released into the country. To put it another way: right now, the best data we have suggests that approximately 1 in every 5 illegal aliens who are released into the US is Covid-Positive. Border Patrol is releasing around 100,000 illegal aliens a month now...

Mayorkas knows there is a pandemic. He knows the Lambda Variant from Peru is infecting South and Central America and will likely arrive here through the US-Mexico border. He just doesn't care.

For all of these reasons, Alejandro Mayorkas must be impeached and removed from office. Rep. Andy Biggs is introducing impeachment articles against Mayorkas and I implore you to sign on as a co-sponsor and do everything in your power to force a vote.

The American people deserve a DHS Secretary who actually takes their oath seriously. Unfortunately, that is something that Mayorkas will never do. He has no interest in keeping the border secure. He wants it to be as open and porous as possible.

You also swore an oath to defend the United States against all threats, both foreign and domestic. The US Border Patrol is being overrun. This administration is literally releasing Covid-Positive illegal aliens into American towns and cities.

Your oath requires that you shut this down and that can only happen if you impeach and remove Alejandro Mayorkas immediately!

Anything less is unacceptable and a violation of YOUR oath of office!
