Millions of Texans are still trying to rebuild after being battered by two winter storms. As a result of the lockdowns, over ten million Americans are still unemployed and trying to find work. Hundreds of thousands of businesses have already declared bankruptcy and millions others continue to teeter on the brink of going out of business.

There is no shortage of crises that demand your attention. There are Americans hurting, through no fault of their own, and hoping that you will take the time to alleviate that suffering and help the country get back on its feet.

Amazingly, however, your colleagues unveiled a bill yesterday that would do none of that. They call it the "U.S. Citizenship Act," but given all that is happening, it might as well have been called the "Putting Americans Last Act."

You see, instead of tackling the real problems facing their constituents, many of your colleagues want to prioritize giving amnesty, benefits, work permits, and a pathway to citizenship to illegal aliens.

It is unconscionable to me that at a time when 10.1 million Americans are out of work, Congress would even consider granting work permits to 11-22 million illegal aliens. It is almost like supporters of this bill forget who they work for...

The U.S. Citizenship Act would automatically grant amnesty and a pathway to citizenship to any illegal alien, as long as he or she has not committed more than three misdemeanors. It is insane that with all of the problems facing this country, your colleagues want to prioritize giving citizenships to illegal aliens with criminal records... Any illegal alien with four or more misdemeanors or felonies on their record would be able to apply for a waiver "for humanitarian purposes, family unity, or if otherwise in the public interest."

But it gets worse. As if there weren't enough illegal alien criminals already in the country, the U.S. Citizenship Act would also offer amnesty and a pathway to citizenship for criminals who have already been deported. That's right: The 900,000 of the illegal aliens deported under Trump would become eligible to return and apply for amnesty...

This is insanity. Who in their right mind would look around at the problems facing the country and possibly believe that THIS is what Congress should be prioritizing? It is remarkably tone deaf, even for Congress.

I am writing to make sure you understand that you will not get away with supporting this legislation.

I don't care what it takes, you MUST kill this bill and prevent it from passing. Any Congressman or Senator who supports this madness, or sits back and allows it to pass, will be removed from office. That is a promise.

If you put the needs of illegal aliens ahead of the needs of the American people - your constituents - then you are finished!
