The FBI has revealed that the agitators behind the crowd that stormed the Capitol on January 6th had pre-planned their assault. Long before Donald Trump ever took the stage, agitators on the right and the left had committed to forcing their way into the US Capitol.

Yes, you read that correctly: Leftist agitators have been arrested as well for inciting Trump supporters...

Had the House of Representatives held hearings on the proposed impeachment articles, they would have heard this testimony. They would have learned that the first agitator started attacking Donald Trump before he had even finished speaking. They would have learned that even if what Donald Trump said met the definition of "inciting violence," no one who heard it could have possibly walked from the Ellipse to the Capitol by the time the pushing and shoving had started.

They would have heard testimony from law enforcement professionals explaining that they had received intelligence reports that agitators planned to try to storm the capitol. They would have seen the evidence collected by the FBI showing that the storming was pre-planned weeks in advance.

Then, they would have heard from legal experts who would confirm that Donald Trump had a 1st Amendment right to dispute election results and that nothing he said rose to the level of illegal speech as defined by Brandenburg v. Ohio. You also would have heard from legal experts who would have explained that even if Donald Trump's speech toed the line, it is impossible for someone to spontaneously incite a riot that was pre-planned without his knowledge.

All of this would have come out in Judiciary Committee hearings. But the Democrats in the House refused to hold any hearings. They brought a single article directly to the floor and had all members vote on it without seeing or hearing any of the evidence.

If a prosecutor tried this... if they tried to convince a grand jury to indict a suspect without examining a single piece of evidence... the charges would be completely thrown out and the prosecutor would likely be censured. But because Donald Trump was an outgoing President, your colleagues believe he does not deserve this most basic tenet of due process...

You must toss out this impeachment article. After months of promising to "bring the country together," it is shameful that the Democrats' first act after gaining control of Congress is to try to punish the President for a non-existent crime and ban him from ever running for President again.

We have heard from Democrats and Republicans that they want to stop Trump from running again in 2024. Some of your colleagues have expressed interest in cancelling Trump's Secret Service protection, clawing back his pension, and even outlawing his presidential library.

Without presenting or hearing any evidence, they impeached the President because, in their mind, he deserves to be punished.

If you go along with this, you will do untold damage to this Republic. There is no such thing as a "peaceful transfer of power" if Congress' first act is to put the outgoing President on trial.

America is better than this. You are supposed to be better than this.

If you aren't... if you choose to go along with this impeachment push... I promise that I will not rest until you are removed from office!
