For weeks, we have heard nonstop about the need to have a "peaceful transfer of power."

What we got yesterday was anything but that... There is no "peaceful transfer of power" if there were more troops at the inauguration than civilians. It is not a "peaceful transfer of power" if the incoming administration erected razor wire fencing around the national mall to stop anyone from attending.

And it is not a "peaceful transfer of power" if the new Congress' first order of business is to hold an impeachment trial against the previous President for a non-existent crime.

The transcript is clear. Donald Trump did not "incite" any riot. If you actually read what he said, he told rallygoers to "peacefully" protest at the Capitol. There was no call to violence whatsoever. Prosecuting the President for protected speech is a clear violation of Brandenburg v. Ohio...

You would know this if you took the time to hold impeachment hearings to listen to Constitutional and legal experts. But you didn't...

It is also becoming clear that the "riot" at the Capitol was pre-planned. There were left- and right-wing agitators on the ground who had been planning to storm the Capitol for weeks. Definitionally, President Trump cannot be guilty of inciting a riot if the perpetrators pre-planned their actions...

Again, you would know this if you actually held hearings and listened to testimony from witnesses.

You also would have been informed during these hearings that you would drag the country into a Constitutional crisis by impeaching an outgoing President. Chief Justice John Roberts has already announced that he will not preside over a Trump impeachment trial. The Constitution requires the Chief Justice to preside over presidential impeachments. But since Trump is now a private citizen, it ceases to be a Presidential impeachment anymore...

The result is that Kamala Harris would preside. There legitimate doubts over whether the Congress has the right to try a private citizen. But there are also legitimate concerns over having a new Vice President preside over the trial of the previous President. You expect to see this in Banana Republics and Dictatorships, not in America.

This is not a "peaceful transfer of power" and you know it...

I am demanding that you dismiss this article of impeachment immediately.

Unemployment is rising, businesses are suffering, and there are very real problems and challenges still facing the country. You were elected to solve these problems, not pursue political witchhunts and vengeance... You need to get back to work doing the people's business.

If you refuse... if you insist on wasting time by holding another impeachment trial against Donald Trump... then I promise that the person who will end up being removed from office is YOU!
