Last week, we witnessed Twitter and Facebook, the most powerful technology companies in the country, participate in a coordinated effort to block users from accessing a New York Post article detailing Hunter and Joe Biden's actions related to Burisma.

Just to summarize what we know so far: Hunter Biden was required to give 50% of his salaries to Joe Biden. So, when Burisma agreed to pay Hunter Biden 50k a month, half of that was apparently funneled to Joe Biden. When Hunter Biden was hired, he was told by Burisma executives that his job was to use his influence to help the company shut down the investigations and political pressure it was facing. Hunter Biden responded by setting up a meeting between the #3 Executive at Burisma and Joe Biden, while he was the sitting Vice President. The Biden Campaign originally denied the allegation, pointing out that there was no meeting listed on Joe Biden's official calendar. But since other people on the email trails began verifying that emails from Hunter Biden's laptop were authentic, the Biden Campaign now admits that it was possible that Biden held an informal meeting with the Burisma executive...

The American people deserve to know whether Joe Biden used the Vice Presidency to enrich himself and his family. Considering that the Vice President is largely an honorific position, if Joe Biden was able to profit off of a position with very little power, imagine what he would do if he became leader of the free world...

Social media companies, however, decided to stop people from learning about all of this. On Facebook, posts about Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, and Burisma were artificially throttled to "reduce distribution." Facebook Communications Policy Director Andy Stone also announced that in addition to "reducing distribution" for NY Post stories, but that he was also actively encouraging "fact checkers" to take a look at the claim. This is a big deal. Up until now, Facebook has maintained that fact checkers were independent and that Facebook restricted content at their behest. But Stone's post reveals that Facebook decided to throttle the post on its own and then encourage fact checkers to come up with a way to legitimize it. This admission calls into question the reasoning behind every political post that Facebook has censored with the help of their "fact checkers."

We now understand why Facebook did what it did. Anna Makanju is the Public Policy Executive at Facebook in charge of "election integrity on the platform." She is one of the executives at Facebook who was behind the decision to block the Hunter Biden story from being shared. Before joining Facebook, Makanju was in charge of Vice President Joe Biden's Ukraine Policy... That is how corrupt this is.

The most egregious response, however, was on Twitter. Links to the New York Post article were artificially blocked. When House Republicans posted the New York Post article on their Judiciary Committee website, Twitter blocked that link as well. People who posted links or screen captures were banned. It got so bad that the accounts for White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany and the Trump campaign were also suspended because they talked about the news story. To this day, the New York Post is not allowed to regain control of its account until it deletes the posts about the Hunter Biden story.

What Facebook and Twitter did last week constitutes the biggest illegal in-kind campaign contribution in American history. Both Facebook and Twitter allow clients to pay to extend a post's reach. Likewise, the opposite is true. There is value in preventing people from seeing breaking news stories critical of Joe Biden. Not only did their "donation" to the Biden campaign clearly exceed the maximum allowed by law, but it is also a Federal violation for companies to make in-kind donations to campaigns.

I am encouraged that Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley announced their plan to subpoena Twitter and Facebook to answer for what they did, but that is not good enough. The fact that leadership wants to wait until next week to hold the vote, and then until the end of next week to hear testimony, is unacceptable. By that time, it will be too late.

You must issue subpoenas to Facebook, Twitter, and any other company involved IMMEDIATELY and compel them to testify IMMEDIATELY.

You also have more than enough evidence to make criminal referrals to the Federal Elections Commission and the Department of Justice. These tech monopolies just tried to interfere in a Presidential election by shielding their preferred candidate from an October Surprise. Again, you have all the evidence you need to make a referral to the FEC and DOJ to investigate and prosecute this.

It is time for action. No more promising to "do something." You have been doing this for months. It is time to take action right now. Immediately issue the subpoenas, compel the testimony, and refer both companies for criminal investigation and prosecution.

If you refuse to take these steps, I will have no choice but to assume you are complicit in these schemes and respond accordingly...
