Representative Matt Gaetz just blew the whistle on what the ATF is doing. Behind closed doors, the ATF is trying to reclassify a firearm part called an "arm brace" to turn hundreds of thousands of Americans into felons overnight.

In 2013, the ATF approved the SB-15 arm brace for sale and confirmed that its purchase and use does not violate any gun laws. The SB-15 was designed to help disabled military veterans who lost limbs in combat re-learn how to fire handguns with just one arm.

At least 700,000 Americans bought arm braces after the ATF confirmed they were legal to own. That number is likely much, much higher because other companies released their own versions of the arm brace, all approved by the ATF's Firearm Technology Branch.

In 2015, the ATF spontaneously changed its mind and decided that everyone who purchased an arm brace (with their permission) was actually breaking the law. They reclassified the SB-15 and other arm braces as "shoulder stocks." Overnight, without any warning, these bureaucrats turned hundreds of thousands of Americans into felons.

It took two years to force the ATF to reverse course. In 2017, they finally admitted it was insane to reclassify a device like that and turn law-abiding gun owners into criminals. They revised their opinion again and said that the device was legal to own and use.

Well, the ATF is changing its mind *again*. They are working on new language to turn American gun owners back into felons, not because they did anything wrong, but because unelected government bureaucrats decided to change their mind for the fourth time in 7 years...

When the ATF used the same strategy to ban bumpstocks last year -- devices that, again, the ATF had previously declared were legal to own -- barely anyone in Congress stood against it. They believed that the ends justified the means.

Now, the ATF is coming after a firearm accessory designed to help teach disabled Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who lost limbs in combat how to shoot again. This is why "ends justify the means" governance is so dangerous.

This is insane.

I am demanding that you put a stop to this right now. I don't care what it takes... you swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution against all domestic enemies. Right now, unelected bureaucrats in the ATF are scheming to turn hundreds of thousands of Americans into felons overnight for absolutely no reason.

You must honor your oath. You must put a stop to this.
