As you read this, President Trump is meeting with Pentagon officials and finalizing plans to bring the military into cities in order to restore order. He has declared that he will only send the military into cities where mayors and governors have proven unable or unwilling to protect their citizens.

Trump is hoping that he doesn't need to invoke the Insurrection Act. The President is hopeful that mayors and governors will do the right thing and protect their people. But he is planning for all possibilities.

Democrats, however, are rushing to revoke this Presidential Power! Sen. Richard Blumenthal is introducing a bill to amend the Insurrection Act of 1807 to block Trump from taking any action to keep Americans safe.

Democrats are literally rushing to protect the rioters and looters. It is despicable. But what is even worse is that GOPers are starting to line up to support the measure too!

You CANNOT let them get away with this!

President Trump issued a warning this week. Any city or state that proves unable or unwilling to protect their people from rioters and looters will receive support from the military.

If local politicians refuse to allow police to protect the streets, and governors refuse to call in the national guard, then the President has promised that he will invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 to protect the people.

Trump is NOT talking about using the military against peaceful protesters. He is only talking about sending in soldiers if the police and national guard cannot get the job done. President Trump is hopeful that he will never have to do this.

Many of your colleagues, however, want to remove this tool from the toolbox all together. Sen Richard Blumenthal has introduced legislation to gut the Insurrection Act of 1807 and remove the President's ability to put down riots all together.

Instead of working to restore law and order, your colleagues are actually taking steps to protect looters and rioters.

This is the same power that Dwight D. Eisenhower invoked to force Little Rock, Arkansas to allow black students to enroll in all-white high schools. This is the same power that George H.W. Bush used to put down looting in the Virgin Islands in 1989 after Hurricane Hugo, and again to end the LA riots in 1992.

The 14th Amendment requires that cities and states respect the rights and liberties of their residents. When they fail or refuse to do so, the President has the power, and duty, to intervene.

It is disgusting that so many of your colleagues want to eliminate this national security power, all in an attempt to "defeat" Trump. For your sake, I hope that you are not one of them...

Any Congressman or Senator who supports or votes for Senator Blumenthal's legislation will be removed from office. Any Republican or Democrat who votes to protect the looters and protesters will be removed from office.
