Every mainstream media outlet is now exclusively covering the Minnesota riots right now.

Whenever the media focuses exclusively on one topic like this, I always look to see what Establishment Republicans and Democrats are going to try to push through in Congress. Whenever there is a story that dominates the news cycle, both parties try to use that as an opportunity to sneak legislation through before their constituents can catch them.

Unfortunately, this is another one of those times. This week, Nancy Pelosi was forced to postpone a vote on legislation to restore the FBI's FISA surveillance powers. For the last two and a half months, the FBI has been blocked from spying on innocent Americans without a warrant.

Pelosi had tried to restore those powers this week, but Liberals and Conservatives united to block the bill. Now that all eyes are on the Minnesota riots, however, the establishments of both parties want to use this time to whip up the votes so they can pass the bill.

We now know that the FBI abused its power when it illegally and unconstitutionally spied on then-candidate Trump and his campaign associates. There was never any legitimate predication behind the investigation and we know that the FBI was forced to lie to the FISA Court in order to keep their fruitless investigation going.

If the FBI was able to get away with this in order to target the President-Elect and his incoming administration, I shudder to think about the constitutional violation the Bureau has gotten away with when targeting average Americans...

Let me be absolutely clear: you cannot allow these surveillance powers to be restored. I don't care what amendments are being floated or what changes are being offered... giving the FBI the power to spy on Americans without securing a warrant is fundamentally violative of the Fourth Amendment.

You must not allow this bill, or any legislation like it, to pass.

I will remind you that you swore an oath to defend the Constitution. That includes the Fourth Amendment.

Any Congressman or Senator who votes to and restore the FBI's secret surveillance power, and surrender my Fourth Amendment rights, will have violated this sacred oath and must be removed from office!
