The mantra of the Far Left is and always has been to 'never let a good crisis go to waste.' We are seeing this in the response to the Coronavirus. Cities and states are using their newfound emergency powers to implement policies that they have spent years pushing.

But the most egregious of these abuses involves the 2nd Amendment. Right now, two cities -- Champaign, IL and New Orleans, LA -- have officially declared the authority to suspend the 2nd Amendment within their borders.

Under the new emergency declarations, these state governments claim the power to suspend gun and ammunitions sales and even prohibit public carry. They are quite literally going after the right to both keep and bear arms.

This is flagrantly unconstitutional. And yet, more and more states and cities are openly talking about following their lead and instituting gun and ammunition bans of their own...

The Founders knew a day like this would come. They ratified the 2nd Amendment for a reason, to ensure that Americans' God-given self-defense rights were treated as rights and not privileges that could be revoked at will.

The 14th Amendment was ratified to ensure that when states and localities were found to be violating their resident's rights and liberties, Congress would have the power to intervene. The 14th Amendment reads that "no state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law."

On top of that, the amendment states that "the Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."

When cities and states violate Americans' rights, it is your duty to stop them.

Cities and states have absolutely no authority to suspend the 2nd Amendment, and certainly not to combat a respiratory virus...

You swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, and that included the 2nd Amendment. Right now, there are cities and states that are flagrantly violating those rights.

If you will not honor that oath and take a stand up for your constituents and all law-abiding gun owners, then you have no business serving in any capacity and must be removed from office...
