President Donald Trump has ordered the United States to withdraw from the Paris Climate Treaty. No Federal employees are allowed to collaborate with the United Nations on treaty implementation and all Treasury funds that Obama promised the UN have been frozen.

But yesterday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi led a delegation of 14 Democrats to Madrid, Spain and meet with UN officials at the COP25 Climate Conference.

There, they will finalize their plan to prevent the Trump administration from fully withdrawing from the treaty.

Obama had no right to sign us onto the United Nations' Paris Climate Treaty without Congressional ratification. By withdrawing, Trump is simply following the Constitution. If Congress believes that the treaty is worthwhile, they can choose to ratify it.

But in order to fully withdraw from the Treaty, the Trump administration has to send a final withdrawal notice to the United Nations next November. While it is merely a formality, the letter informs the UN that the United States will no longer be participating in their wealth redistribution scheme.

Pelosi, however, has a plan. Once Pelosi finalizes the details with the UN and returns to the US, she plans to hold a vote on the State Department, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act. Tucked away in that bill is a provision that would use the power of the purse to prevent Trump from finishing the withdrawal process.

Since the President must use Treasury funds to deliver the final withdrawal notice, Pelosi's bill makes it illegal to use even a cent of government funding to do it. It also authorizes the Treasury to begin sending the $2 billion that Barack Obama had promised to give the United Nations. It is a complete and total surrender of our sovereignty.

Congress never ratified this treaty. But if this appropriations bill passes as-is, Obama's signature would become permanent.

You MUST stop this!

I don't care what it takes, you must ensure that this UN surrender amendment is stripped from the State Department spending bill before it reaches Trump's desk. You CANNOT allow your colleagues to block Pres. Trump from withdrawing from this unconstitutionally-signed treaty.

This is the oath you took. The Obama administration violated the Treaty Clause of the Constitution. Barack Obama attempted to bypass Congress and impose the treaty's terms on the country by executive order. You and the President are duty bound to make sure that this Treaty is sent to the ash heap of history where it belongs.

But this coming week, you will be called to vote on a bill that would make the Treaty permanent.

I am demanding that you step up and block this UN-surrender legislation from passing!
