You and your colleagues only have ten working days left to pass the 12 spending bills that will fund the Federal government through next year.

One of those bills is the Department of Health and Human Services Appropriations Act. This bill isn't usually controversial and barely receives any media coverage.. Since it funds the Medicare and Medicaid programs, it is considered "must pass."

Your Democrat colleagues, however, have slipped an amendment into this bill that is designed to roll back President Trump's Protect Life order.

This year, the Trump Administration released new rules governing the disbursement of Title X family planning funding. Federal law already prohibits this money from funding abortion procedures. For years, however, abortion providers have used accounting tricks to get around this ban and collect the funding anyway.

Trump's rule -- which was upheld by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals -- closes these accounting loopholes and clarifies that Title X funds cannot be disbursed to any abortion providers. This is common sense. Federal funds should not be used to facilitate abortion procedures.

Many of your colleagues, however, want to overturn this new regulation. They have slipped an amendment into the HHS Appropriations Act that would undo Trump's Protect Life rule. If passed, it would require that "the Secretary shall carry out section 1001 of the PHS Act solely in accordance with any regulations or other conditions or instructions established by the Secretary pursuant to the authority under section 1006 of the PHS Act that applied as of January 18, 2017, to grants and contracts awarded under section 1001 of the PHS Act..."

All Title X family planning funding would have to be disbursed according to the regulations that were in place two days before Trump was inaugurated. In other words, the Trump administration would be forced to re-adopt Obama-era abortion policy.

Instead of complying with the new regulations, Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers have spent millions lobbying you to restore their funding. This is how your colleagues plan to do just that...

This provision is a gross abuse of the Power of the Purse and must not be allowed to pass!

I am demanding that you do everything in your power to stop this provision from becoming law. I don't care what it takes. I don't care what the Left tries to bribe you with to get you to turn a blind eye to what they are doing. There is no hiding from this...

No matter what it takes, you CANNOT allow your colleagues to roll back President Trump's Protect Life regulation and restore Planned Parenthood's funding!

I need you to understand that If this despicable one-sentence-long amendment survives and becomes law, I will hold you personally accountable!
