If you and your colleagues do not pass a government spending package by the end of the week, the Federal government will shutdown.

Many of your colleagues are trying to use this leverage to kill President Trump's border wall construction. They care more about scoring political points against the President than they care about keeping the country safe...

There is no doubt: the border wall is working. In the sections of new wall that have already gone up, Border Patrol agents have reported a sharp reduction in illegal crossings. And the illegal aliens who do try to climb over the wall have all been quickly apprehended.

President Trump is now on pace to more than double the pedestrian fencing that was in place when he took office. Keeping the American people safe shouldn't be controversial. Trump is simply doing what Republicans and Democrats have promised to do for decades.

There is no doubt that the gaps in our border security constitute a national emergency. President Trump is absolutely right to be using every tool at his disposal to build the wall.

But right now, you are being called upon to vote for a spending package that would shut down all border wall construction for good. Tucked away in the House versions of the National Defense Authorization Act and the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act are two amendments that would make it illegal to spend even a cent on new border wall construction.

However, the bills go even further than that. Radical open border Democrats actually want to outlaw border wall renovations and repairs. If parts of existing fencing are damaged, Border Patrol wouldn't even be allowed repair them. This is insane.

You need to protect the funding that Trump has reprogrammed. I don't care what it takes, you CANNOT allow any of these anti-wall spending amendments to pass.

You have a chance, right here and right now, to finally secure the border. You have an opportunity to do what every President since Ronald Reagan has tried, but failed to do.

Protect the funding. Do not allow your colleagues to play politics with the country's national security.

Secure the border and you will have my support. But if you dare vote to cut off this funding and outlaw border wall construction, I will not rest until you are removed from office...
