The Pentagon just confirmed that they have finalized contracts for 505 miles of new border wall that is set to go up by the end of next September.

Right now, construction crews are completing more than a mile of wall every single day. Border Patrol is reporting that these new sections of wall are already working. Illegal border crossings are plummeting where these new wall sections go up.

This is what Democrats and Republicans have promised for decades, but failed to deliver. We finally have a President who is willing to do whatever is necessary to secure the border, and now you want to stop him?

Last month, your colleagues in the House and Senate voted to cancel the border wall emergency and strip all of the funding from these construction projects. President Trump has already said that he will veto the resolution, but your anti-border wall colleagues aren't done.

They are now advancing poison pill amendments to strip the border wall funding in the upcoming appropriations package.

In the Homeland Security bill, the amendment is found in Section 227. It reads that "no Federal funds may be used for the construction of physical barriers along the southern land border of the United States during fiscal year 2020."

And in the NDAA, the poison pill amendment is found in Section 2801, declaring that “military construction funds may not be obligated, expended, or otherwise used to design or carry out a project to construct, replace, or modify a wall, fence, or other physical barrier along the international border between the United States and Mexico.”

I don't care what it takes... I don't care what it costs... You CANNOT allow either of these amendments to pass.

For once, you need to put politics aside and just do what is right for the country and for the American people.

There is no denying it. These new sections of border wall are making the country safer.

Anyone who votes to cancel the border wall construction will face the consequences...
