Last week, Senate Democrats blocked the minibus spending package from reaching a final vote. They took issue with provisions within the Defense Department spending bill that would have allowed Pres. Trump to continue building the border wall.

The Pentagon just announced that border wall construction is moving forward at a record pace. Every day, one mile of new border wall goes up and Border Patrol says that in these newly secured sections of the border, they are seeing illegal crossings drop by as much as 83%.

The border wall is working and the administration is just getting started. By the end of next year, the administration is on pace to complete more than 450 miles of new border wall.

For decades, Republicans and Democrats have promised to secure the border, only to turn around and block the funding at opportunity. Now that the border is being secured anyway, you now want to revoke that funding too. Trust me when I tell you, that would be a mistake.

But many of your colleagues are still desperate to stop the border wall project, even if it means forcing a government shutdown. They are so eager to deal President Trump a political "loss" that they are willing to hold our national security hostage to do it...

It is shameful. But what is even more disgusting is that their ploy is actually starting to work. A handful of Republicans are already starting to abandon the border wall project because they are terrified of a government shutdown.

Let me be absolutely clear: The only thing you should be terrified of is me.

If you vote to cancel the border wall project, I promise that you will be removed from office. If you put politics above our national security, you are not fit to serve in any capacity.

I am demanding that you hold the line and protect the border wall construction funding, no matter what it takes.
