The House Judiciary Committee plans to advance the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019. Not only would this ban some of the most commonly owner handguns and shotguns in America, but it would ban any semi-automatic rifle that you can hold in your hand.

That's right, the new version of the Assault Weapons Ban lists a "grip, or any other characteristic that can function as a grip" as a prohibited feature. A semi-automatic rifle would become an "assault weapon" simply if it is possible to hold it in your hand...

This is the most radical gun ban ever introduced in Congress. But of course, your colleagues are trying to make it even worse.

Rep. Eric Swalwell plans to introduce amendments removing the grandfathering provision and implementing a mandatory nationwide gun buy-back. Any American who refused to sell their firearms to the government would be committing a felony...

Already, many of your colleagues are offering to compromise with these gun grabbers. They are offering "voluntary" buy-backs instead of nationwide confiscation raids, less-strict magazine bans, and a universal registration of America's gun owners.

As Beto O'Rourke made it abundantly clear, the gun control movement's ultimate goal is civilian disarmament.

You cannot compromise with that. Anything you offer these people is just a stepping stone towards future confiscation. Nothing will ever be enough. If you pay attention, Democrats are even admitting that this will just be "the start." They will not rest until gun ownership is abolished in this country.

You swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, and that includes the 2nd Amendment. I am demanding that you honor it.

Your choice is clear. You can either honor your oath and get to keep your job, or vote for the most unconstitutional gun control package ever introduced and be removed from office.
