For the second time in a week, the Pentagon just revised its border wall estimates upwards. The Army Corps of Engineers was able to purchase border property for less than expected, so the Pentagon estimates that Trumps national emergency will now include just shy of 500 miles of border wall construction over the next year.

The Pentagon and Homeland Security have now authorized 500 miles of new18-to-30 foot tall pedestrian border fencing.

This shouldn't be controversial. Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama all supported new border fencing. In 2006, the entirety of the GOP and Democrat leadership voted to authorize this border wall construction. It was so bipartisan, that even Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton voted for it.

But now that Donald Trump is actually moving forward with the project, many of your colleagues are desperate to stop him.

It is disgusting how Congress is playing political games with our national security.

Democrats are desperately trying to include their poison pill amendments into the Defense and Homeland Security Appropriations bills to cancel all border wall construction.

Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are now threatening a government shutdown unless you agree to cancel the border wall construction.

Just so we are clear: the land has been purchased, materials have been sourced, and contractors have been hired. The purchase orders and contracts have been signed. Passing these appropriations amendments won't claw that money back. The only thing it will do is stop the wall from actually going up.

The Left doesn't care about the funding. They simply want to keep the border as open as possible, for as long as possible.

I have waited my entire life for the Federal government to do its job and secure the southern border. Now that it is actually happening, Congress wants to stop the border wall from going up. It is absolutely shameful.

Any Congressman or Senator who votes to claw back the border wall funding will be removed from office. Period.

For once, put the politics aside and do what is right for the country. If you can't bring yourself to do that, we will replace you with someone who will...
