Your colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee just announced that they are postponing the gun ban and confiscation hearing that was originally scheduled for Wednesday.

No, not because they realized their gun control proposals were flagrantly unconstitutional... The hearing is postponed because 5 of the committee members represent districts in Hurricane Dorian's path. The Left is now using these extra couple days to make their gun control package even worse.

We already knew that anti-gun Democrats planned to push through the biggest gun ban in American history and a Red Flag bill that would allow the government to disarm innocent Americans. But now, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are demanding that Congress also pass a "universal background check" bill as well.

Don't let that terminology fool you. Their background check proposal is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to give the Federal government the power to keep a database of American gun owners. The only way to enforce universal background checks is to keep track of who owns what guns. Otherwise, there is no way to tell whether a firearm changed hands legally.

Gun control advocates know that the key to their agenda is this nationwide registry. Gun bans and confiscation programs are unenforceable without this information.

Whenever countries have imposed gun owner registration programs on their people, those registries have been used to disarm the population. It happened in Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, China, the UK, Australia, Canada, Venezuela. Registration always eventually leads to confiscation.

But your colleagues don't want to wait. They want to push through their entire agenda right now.

That is why they are adding additional bills to the gun control package that is coming up for a vote. All together, this package would create a gun owner registry, ban tens of millions of the most commonly owned semi-automatic weapons in the country, and give the government the power to confiscate firearms from innocent people who have not broke the law. They are going to try to go for it all.

Which is why I am so shocked that you are trying to negotiate with them over this gun package.

It is inescapable. The gun control movement's ultimate goal is civilian disarmament. They are literally forcing a vote on a package that would ban the most commonly owned firearms, force all gun owners to register with the Federal government, and give the government the power to disarm them, even if they haven't committed a crime.

There is no negotiating with that. There is no middle ground here.

You either support the 2nd Amendment, or you don't. You either honor your oath of office to defend the Constitution, or you don't. It is time to pick a side and accept the consequences.

Because mark my words, if you pass ANY of these gun control proposals into law, you will face the consequences. You will be removed from office.
