The House Judiciary Committee just announced that they were coming back to hold an emergency hearing to mark-up three gun bills. A second hearing has been scheduled to mark-up a sweeping gun ban bill. The Senate is discussing holding an emergency session to consider some of the same exact bills.

You must stop this!

The first bill was introduced by Representative Deutsch (D-FL), who represents the district where the Parkland shooting took place. Deutsch's "Keep Americans Safe Act" would ban firearm magazines capable of holding 11+ rounds of ammunition.

But the legislation wouldn't actually keep Americans safe. During the Parkland shooting, the shooter used 10-round magazines because those are the only ones he could fit in his bag and pockets. The Columbine shooting happened during the last Assault Weapon Ban and the perpetrators were able to kill 15 people with ban-compliant magazines.

The bill noticeably would exempt police officers, admitting that forcing them to use low-capacity magazines would be dangerous. You are already admitting that this bill will make it harder for law-abiding Americans to defend themselves. If you dare pass this bill, the blood will be on your hands.

The Committee is also considering two new confiscation bills. The first is a Red Flag bill, which would allow the government to confiscate firearms from innocent people without having to prove that they broke the law. This bill is flagrantly unconstitutional.

The next bill, however, would disarm any American convicted of a hate crime "misdemeanor." That includes prosecutions for so-called "hate speech." Over the past two weeks, we have seen your colleagues demonize Conservative Americans and call anyone who supports President Trump a "racist." Now, they are voting on a bill to allow the government to disarm "racists." This is designed to be abused.

And on September 25th, the Committee will consider the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019, the most radical gun ban bill ever devised. Tens of millions of the most commonly owned firearms -- including guns that Americans use for self-defense, target shooting, and hunting -- would be instantly banned.

You need to kill each and every one of these bills. None of these bills would keep the American people safe. Instead, they are only designed to make it harder for law-abiding Americans to defend themselves and easier for the government to disarm innocent people.

These bills will not keep the country safe and they certainly won't help you win re-election. Any Congressman or Senator who votes for any of these bills will be voted out and removed from office.

Every time there is a mass shooting, there is a rush to blame and disarm innocent Americans who did nothing wrong. Enough is enough.

Vote for any of these bills and your career is finished. That is a promise.
