Yesterday, Attorney General William Barr announced that he has found a pathway to adding the citizenship question onto the census without defying the Supreme Court's ruling. It is not a surprise that Nancy Pelosi immediately announced her plan to hold Barr (and Wilbur Ross) in Contempt over the Census.

Right now, Nancy Pelosi is preparing to force a vote on multiple bills and resolutions to block the Trump administration from adding a citizenship question to the 2020 census. I am demanding that you do everything in your power to block these votes and protect the citizenship question.

Many of your colleagues, both Democrat and Republican, are terrified. They would likely lose their seats if even a fraction of illegal aliens and non-citizens refused to fill out the census form.

And they should be terrified. If you need to keep the number of illegal aliens and non-citizens living in your state a secret in order to hold onto your political power, then you don't deserve that power to begin with.

An undercount would also likely shift the balance of power away from solid blue states to more traditional battleground states, effectively eliminating the Democrat candidate's advantage in the Electoral College.

There is nothing controversial about counting the number of citizens living in each state. The only thing that is controversial is that one political party needs this number to be kept a secret in order to keep their political power...

Democrats are trying to force a vote this week on two different measures to stop the citizenship question from being added. I am demanding that you vote NO on both of them.

The first is going to be a version of the Every Person Counts Act. This bill would outlaw the citizenship question all together. You must kill this bill.

The second effort is more sinister. Since the Trump administration is desperately trying to get the question added in time, Pelosi is trying run out the clock by holding William Barr and Wilbur Ross in Contempt. Other committees are trying to bury the DOJ and Commerce Department in subpoenas to stop them from getting the question added in time. You must do everything in your power to put an end to this Contempt scheme.

When you stand for re-election, you will have to face the American people. Not illegal aliens... not non-citizens... but the American people. If you go along with Pelosi's plan and try to stop the citizenship question from being added to the Census, I promise that you will lose.
