The 2nd Amendment says that 'the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed' for a reason. It is there to ensure that the government knows it cannot target American gun owners. It is there to block Congress from passing bills disarming innocent Americans or suspending their gun rights.

And yet, that is exactly what your colleagues are trying to do. Pelosi is pushing a gun control package that would disarm young and old alike. All Americans between 18 and 21 years old would instantly lose their 2nd Amendment rights and the package would reinstate Barack Obama's Social Security gun ban.

A provision within the Violence Against Women Act would allow the Federal government to permanently disarm Americans who commit non-violent misdemeanors and a number of drafted Red Flag bills would authorize police to disarm innocent Americans who have done absolutely nothing wrong.

All together, this gun control package would disarm tens of millions of Americans. Innocent men and women, young and old, would instantly lose their God-given right to self-defense. This is despicable.

Your gun control colleagues are hoping that by demanding such a massive disarmament package, they can negotiate down to a more reasonable number. They think that if they demand that tens of millions of innocent Americans lose their gun rights, Republicans might settle and "compromise" on a smaller number. As if there is any such thing as a "reasonable" number of gun confiscations...

You must fight back.

The 2nd Amendment was ratified specifically to ensure that future Congresses did not try to "compromise" on Americans' gun rights. The Founders knew a day might come when Congress would turn on the American people and wrote the Bill of Rights to protect our God-given rights.

If you let any of these gun control bills pass, if you 'compromise' and open the door to any new gun bans or disarmament programs, then you are an enemy of the Constitution and must be removed from office.
