More and more of your colleagues are signing onto the term limits resolution. Just in the past week, Senator Tod Young and Congressman Bradley Byrne have signed on as co-sponsors.

Despite all of the political division in this country, more than 82% of Americans agree that there should be term limits for members of Congress.

The resolution -- S.J. Res 1 and H.J. Res. 20 -- were introduced by Ted Cruz and Francis Rooney. This measure is common sense. It would cap careers in the House of Representatives at just three terms and limit Senators to serving no more than two terms in office. After that, they would be forced to retire. Under this resolution, no previously served terms would count towards the limit.

Whether you are willing to admit it or not, Congress is broken because the service model no longer exists. The Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader have each been in office for more than 30 years.
