Yesterday, 44 of your colleagues voted against a bill that would have protected babies -- American citizens -- born alive after botched abortions. They voted to allow doctors and nurses to neglect and kill children who had already survived abortion procedures.

This is infanticide. This is murder.

The law Congress passed in 2002 does not adequately protect these abortion victims. Nor does it require that doctors and nurses care for these babies and keep them alive. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act does just that.

The bill had sufficient Republican and Democrat support to pass in the Senate, but not the 60 votes needed for cloture. Democrats actually filibustered a bill to protect newborn babies... They declared that this bill would simply restrict a woman's right to "choose."

By "choose," they apparently mean the ability to choose whether a baby, born-alive, gets to keep on living.

We have seen absolutely shameful legislative pushes in states like New York, Virginia, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Illinois that would allow elective abortions up-to, and even after, the delivery. This legislation was designed to stop this infanticide push in its tracks. It deserves to pass.

How sick does someone have to be to vote against requiring doctors and nurses to care for newborn abortion survivors?

I am demanding that you fight for this legislation and any other bills designed to protect the unborn and newborns from the scourge of abortion. I don't care how long it takes. I don't care what other issues have to get put on the back-burner. You must fight for the unborn. Not just when the cameras are rolling and you can get free press out of it. If you give up on these bills, I will have no choice but to give up on you.

Mahatma Ghandi once said that the true measure of a society is how it treats its most vulnerable members. There is no one more vulnerable than these newborn abortion survivors.

If you do not believe they are deserving of life and protection, then you are absolutely despicable and must be removed from office!
