Last week, Democrats had convinced four or five Republican Senators to block Trump's border wall national emergency. Today, the Left is saying that number is up to EIGHT, and maybe even as high as TEN. And that is just in the Senate. Pelosi believes she has at least thirty Republicans willing to vote to overrule Trump's national emergency declaration.

While the National Emergencies Act of 1976 allows the President to declare an emergency to build a border wall, it also allows Congress to vote to override the order. But if Congress falls just one vote short, then Trump is allowed to keep going.

That is why this fight is so important. Democrats are converting anti-Trump Congressmen and Senators at a record pace. But if you can stop them, if you can block their Resolution of Disapproval, then the border wall becomes a reality!

President Trump has the constitutional and legal authority to declare a national emergency to secure the southern border.

As President and Commander in Chief, Trump has near-limitless power to take actions to protect the national security of the United States. The Supreme Court said as much when they upheld the travel ban last year.

But when Congress passed the National Emergencies Act in 1976, they gave the President even more power. That bill allows the President to repurpose discretionary funding to take care of urgent national emergencies. The only caveat is that the project has to be germane to the appropriation.

Trump is reprogramming funding from the US Treasury's drug asset seizure fund (to use seized drug cartel money to fund the wall). He is also using money from the Pentagon's drug interdiction fund and MILCON budget to build the wall. Here, this reprogramming makes complete sense. The border wall will stop drug traffickers and it absolutely is a national security project deserving of Pentagon funds.

Except, if you talk to your colleagues, they believe that Trump is shredding the Constitution and destroying the separation of powers. That is an intellectually lazy argument that completely ignores the NEA powers that Congress gave the President.

You need to step aside and let President Trump do what is necessary to protect the country and the American people. But if a Resolution of Disapproval comes to the floor for a vote, you MUST do everything in your power to vote it down. And under NO circumstance can you allow Congress to override a Presidential veto.

You have to choose, right now, whether you represent the American people -- your constituents -- or the millions of illegal aliens here and eager to come here. If you represent the American people, then you MUST protect President Trump's border wall project, at all costs. But if you would rather prioritize the rights of illegal aliens, cartels, and smugglers, then you have no business serving in any capacity... and I promise that you will be removed from office!
