Paul Ryan stabbed gun owners in the back last year. GOP Senators are now trying to right that wrong.

Senator John Cornyn has introduced the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act to give full nationwide reciprocity to current concealed carry permit holders.

Not only that, but he believes he can get enough Democrat votes to push it through!

This is our best chance to restore the 2nd Amendment to its original intent. We have a chance to tear down more than a century of unconstitutional carry bans and restore the right to bear arms as the founders intended.

Every year, we are confronted with tragedies where trained and licensed gun owners are killed or victimized because they were traveling in a state that did not recognize or honor their carry permits.

But we are also shown heroic cases where law-abiding gun owners have been able to use their newly-recognized carry rights to defend themselves.

This week, a criminal tried to rob a 25-year-old woman at gunpoint at a South Chicago bus stop. Had this happened a few years ago, she would have become just another statistic. But after Illinois was forced to start issuing carry permits, this woman took it upon herself to get the training to carry a concealed weapon. She drew her pistol just in time and was able to kill the assailant.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that the 2nd Amendment describes an individual right to self defense and that Americans have a right to bear (carry) firearms.

So why do you continue to allow a minority of states to infringe on this basic individual liberty?

Unless you are a police officer, it is impossible to legally carry a concealed weapon in all fifty states. A minority of states refuse to honor any out-of-state permits and refuse to issue non-resident permits to qualified applicants. If this was being done with any other Constitutional right, it would be a massive scandal. But for some reason, these states have been allowed to violate the 2nd Amendment without consequence.

The Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act protects the 2nd Amendment rights of individuals while respecting the 10th Amendment rights of states. But most importantly, it makes good on the 14th Amendment's promise that Congress will intervene anytime states enforce laws that violate Americans' rights.

You have an obligation to right this wrong.

The American people have waited long enough. It is time to pass Concealed Carry Reciprocity and send it to President Trump's desk for signature.

A right delayed is a right denied. If you won't prioritize defending and protecting my rights, then you will be removed from office.
