The President delivered a major address to the nation last night and laid out his reasoning for demanding a border barrier and full border security funding.

What we saw was a man desperate to protect the American people from the scourge of illegal immigration. He logically explained the crisis and outlined his steps to fix it.

Every week, we see more horrifying stories of families being torn apart by illegal alien criminals. The number of Americans overdosing from heroin and other opioids every year has now gotten so bad, it surpasses the fatalities in the deadliest year of the Vietnam War.

How many more innocent Americans need to die before you fulfill your oath to protect them?

President Trump isn't asking for a full border wall across the entire border. He is asking for funding to build less than 300 miles of fencing to complement the 600+ miles of fencing you and previous Congresses have already approved. On top of that, the President is asking for funding to hire more Border Patrol agents, doctors, and immigration judges to handle the surge we're seeing at the border. He is asking for funding to add technology to the border to detect breaches and more funding to build additional detention facilities to handle the growing number of apprehended migrants.

It is a common-sense plan. And yet, the government remains shut down because a certain political party refuses to allow even a mile of new fencing to be built. Nancy Pelosi joked that she wouldn't give more than a dollar towards the President's border security plan. How disgusting...

It is absolutely shameful that you and your colleagues would play politics with American lives. This is not an issue you can "compromise" on. There is no compromise on national security. Who in their right mind would demand that the border be less secure?

President Trump stopped short of declaring a national emergency. That puts the ball back in your court.

If you will not vote to fully appropriate funding for the President's border security plan, then you will be removed from office. That is a threat and a promise.

If you prioritize playing politics over protecting American lives, then you don't deserve to hold any public office and I will not rest until you are removed and replaced!
