Yesterday, President Trump took the long overdue step to replace Jeff Sessions and bring the Mueller probe under real oversight. Not surprisingly, many of your colleagues were furious. They see Robert Mueller as their last chance to undo the 2016 election. Liberal organizations are now mobilizing hundreds of thousands of people to protest.

They are demanding that you pass S.2644 -- the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act -- into law. This legislation would protect Mueller from being fired and make him the most powerful person in the Justice Department, more powerful than even the President. Robert Mueller would be protected from termination unless activist judges agreed it was justified.

He would be allowed to continue his witch hunt indefinitely. It has been well over a year and a half and we have seen ZERO evidence of collusion. Mueller has charged Russian Intelligence agents, knowing full well they aren't in the country and will never face justice. He has also indicted Trump allies on charges that have NOTHING to do with Russia or the campaign. Paul Manafort was taken down over decade-old tax violations. Now, we're hearing that the Mueller probe is going after President Trump's own children.

This isn't about getting to the truth. Mueller has a mission to destroy the President and he is willing to do anything to do it, even if that means going after the President's own family.

Now, when we will finally have real oversight and management of the Russia probe, your Democrat and Republican colleagues want to make Robert Mueller even more powerful.
