Breaking: Vietnam POW & War Hero Imprisoned For Not Registering Gun 40 Years Ago!

Alfred Pick is an American hero. He was a Vietnam War POW and earned a Silver Star for his heroism during the war.

Now, this 70-year-old was just sentenced to 87 months in Federal prison for failing to register a firearm he purchased at a gun show in the 1970s.

He failed to pay the $200 tax to the ATF when he bought the gun, so now he might spend the rest of his life behind bars.

This is absolutely shameful.

Our goal today is to bombard both Congress and the White House with more than 100,000 FaxBlasts demanding an immediate pardon and the re-opening of the registry to let Veterans and their families register their heirlooms.

Alfred Pick is a 70-year-old Vietnam Veteran. He was a POW during the war and received a Silver Star for his heroism.

This week, he was sentenced to 87 months in Federal prison for failing to register an automatic weapon he purchased at a gun show back in the 1970s.

The laws were different back then. In the 1970s, any law-abiding American could own a fully automatic weapon as long as they registered it with the Federal government and paid a $200 tax. Pick didn't register the gun or pay the tax at the time.

Now, forty years later, he is being thrown behind bars.

He didn't use the gun to commit a crime. By his neighbors' account, he never even took the gun out of its display case. But the full weight of the Federal government came down on him anyway.

I am demanding an immediate pardon for this war hero. He may have broken the law, but he does not deserve to spend the rest of his life behind bars. He answered the call to defend us, and did so valiantly. Now, I am calling on you to do the same for him.

But I am also calling on you to re-open the NFA registry to allow veterans and their families the opportunity to legally register their heirlooms and war bring-backs. Congress has done this multiple times since the registry closed with the passage of the Firearm Owner Protection Act in 1986. The reasoning is simple: our gun laws are supposed to catch criminals, not veterans and their families who forgot to file paperwork or can't locate the documentation anymore.

ATF agents raided Pick's home just months after his wife died from cancer. He was held in custody until trial and was just sentenced to 7 years behind bars. All for a trivial mistake.

He deserves much better than this and I am demanding that you give him justice!

You MUST push for a pardon and re-open the registry to make sure this injustice never happens again!
