Your colleagues are pushing an amendment that, if passed, would open up the floodgates for millions of migrants to enter the United States using fraudulent asylum claims.

Right now, in order to claim asylum in the United States, a migrant has to prove they are specifically being targeted for their political or religious beliefs. It's a high bar to meet, but that is by design. In order for asylum to mean something, it has to be given to people who are truly being oppressed or victimized.

Rep. David Price introduced an amendment to expand US asylum law to include victims of domestic violence and gang violence.

Instead of having to prove that they are being targeted for extermination by an oppressive regime, asylum seekers would only need to claim spousal abuse to be allowed into the US. They wouldn't need to produce proof. All they would need to do is mention domestic violence and they'd be in.

There is no telling the damage this would do to the country. We already know that migrants are showing up to border checkpoints with scripts teaching them how to game the asylum system. This would remove practically all barriers to asylum.

Subcommittee Chairman Kevin Yoder put the amendment up for a vote. Except instead of recording the vote, he called for a voice vote. The amendment was passed without even letting the public know which Congressmen voted for or against it. Now, the members of Congressional Leadership are planning to put it to a vote, hoping they can pass it before Americans catch wind of this betrayal.

This isn't going to work. If you think you'll get away with pushing an amnesty amendment through behind closed doors with no accountability, you have another thing coming.

You MUST kill the Price asylum amendment. You cannot allow open border radicals to invite asylum fraud like this.

This truly is non-negotiable. If you allow this amendment to be passed into law, you will be removed from office. That is a promise.
