Yesterday's shooting in Jacksonville was tragic. After losing a match in a video game tournament, a 24-year-old competitor decided to shoot up the event. Three people were killed and 11 were injured.

Already, some of your colleagues are trying to use this to push their new gun control "compromise" bill. In this case, "compromise" simply means further eroding the right to keep and bear arms.

This shooter was a member of the anti-Trump 'Resistance.' So, why are you putting Conservative gun owners in the crosshairs?

The new plan being pushed by the GOP is called a "red flag bill."

Right now, there are a half dozen ways that law enforcement and judges can disarm Americans and suspend their Constitutional rights. Most of those include the person committing a crime or being adjudicated mentally defective.

This new red flag proposal would flip that on its head. Instead of a police officer or prosecutor having to arrest and charge someone, this new plan would allow for disarmament based on nothing but suspicion.

It would allow ANYONE to report a "dangerous" gun owner to police for disarmament.

Everyone wants police to have the authority to disarm criminals and the mentally ill... But they already have this power. The solution is not to make it easier to disarm people.

Forget about "innocent until proven guilty." This plan would flip that completely upside down and make all gun owners guilty until proven innocent.

Gun confiscation based on hearsay is flagrantly unconstitutional.

I don't care what the bill's intentions are. It will open the floodgates for innocent gun owners to be unconstitutionally deprived of their 2nd Amendment rights.

Forget about what your colleagues are saying. There is no such thing as a "good time" to violate Americans' constitutional rights.

You need to kill this unconstitutional red flag bill and any other gun confiscation bill like it.

This is not a "compromise." This is just another attempt to chip away at the 2nd Amendment.

Support this policy and you will be removed from office. Allow it to pass and you will be removed from office.

That is a promise.
