Yesterday, President Trump signed the 2019 NDAA into law. This was the first appropriations bill to reach his desk for signature so far this year.

In order to keep the government funded, you must deliver the remainder of the government spending bills to the President by September 30.

The President has already threatened to shutdown the government if the border wall funding is not approved and included in the Department Homeland Security Appropriations Act. Sending him anything less will provoke his veto.

So why are so many of your colleagues defying the President on this? The Senate is approving a bill that includes ZERO funding for new border wall construction. It allows for fence upgrades, but wouldn't even make a dent in securing the hundreds of miles of open border.

The House version includes $5 billion for border wall construction, as the President requested. However Congressional leadership has said this language will be removed.

McConnell refuses to put this up for a vote and Paul Ryan doesn't want a fight, so he is caving and accepting the Senate's plan.

Meanwhile, thousands of Americans continue to be victimized by the crime that streams across our open borders.

Enough is enough.

You need to put America and Americans first. You swore an oath to protect us and that is what I expect you to do.

Anything less than full border wall funding is unacceptable. If this Homeland Security spending bill passes without authorizing the wall, you will pay the price.

You will be blamed for the government shutdown and you will be removed from office. This is not a game. This is our national security we are talking about here.
