The legislation making its way through Congress would cut the Congressional salary and benefits to just one dollar for legislators who stay in office too long. They would either be forced out or forced into serving the people (without expecting anything in return).

This is what the Founding Fathers intended: citizen legislators, not career politicians.

President Trump is fully onboard. He is not only endorsing the plan, but demanding Congress put it on his desk.

When the United States was founded, the country was run by citizen legislators.

Icons like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson never expected the become rich off of their government service. They were doing it for the good of the country.

Since then, Washington D.C. has transformed from a service model and become a den of career politicians. There are currently dozens of Congressmen and Senators who have been in office for two decades or more.

If you're being honest, you know that people who have been in office for 20 or 30+ years don't show up with new and fresh ideas.

You and I both know this has nothing to do with service anymore. Joining Congress is about personal enrichment.

It is time to return to the America that Thomas Jefferson envisioned. That is why I am calling on you to co-sponsor and pass the Thomas Jefferson Public Service Act.

The bill is simple. Anyone who serves longer than twelve years in Congress would automatically see their salary and benefits drop to $1 a year.

Instead of imposing strict term limits, this bill would either force people out or force them to serve.

Unlike previous term limit measures, this can pass as a piece of legislation and NOT a Constitutional amendment. That means that it can pass with a simple majority and easily be attached to the next round of spending bills.

President Trump is wholly onboard. He will sign term limit legislation if you put it on his desk.

I am demanding that you do just that.

This is your only play. If you don't take up this mantle, We the People will do it with an Article 5 convention. This is the only way you get a say over this.
