The House Judiciary Committee issued a lawful subpoena to the Department of Justice demanding they hand over documents related to FISA abuse, the Clinton Email investigation, and the Trump-Russia witch hunt.

When Jeff Sessions recused himself from these issues, Rod Rosenstein became the acting Attorney General. He received the Congressional subpoena and do you know what he did?

He ignored it. Last week's deadline came and went and he simply ignored the subpoena.

Then, Congress subpoenaed James Comey's memos. Again, the DOJ and FBI said they couldn't hand the memos over to Congress, even though they approved James Comey's book -- citing the same memos -- for publication.

Rosenstein's defiance has led members of the Freedom Caucus to actually start openly discussing impeaching Rosenstein. Now, articles of impeachment have been drafted.

I am writing to urge you to join this effort and introduce them.

Since being handed the reins, Rod Rosenstein has absolutely bungled the Mueller oversight. He has allowed Mueller to go far outside of his mandate, to the point that Robert Mueller is now prosecuting Trump's former campaign manager for decade-old home mortgage violations.

Rod Rosenstein was the one who penned the memo recommending that Donald Trump fire James Comey. Now, Rosenstein is allowing Mueller to investigate whether Trump broke the law and "obstructed justice" by firing Comey. The whole thing is a sham.

And whenever Congress requests documents, Rosenstein slow-walks it or defies the subpoenas all together.

You and your colleagues are committed to getting to the bottom of all of this. But Congress will never be a co-equal branch of government if rogues like Rod Rosenstein are allowed to openly defy lawful subpoenas.

You must hold Rosenstein in Contempt of Congress for his crime. If he refuses to hand over the documents, then you must impeach him. There is no other way.

The Founders knew a day might come when Executive Branch employees abused their authority. He gave you the power of impeachment as a doomsday provision to preserve this Republic.

The time has come for you to use this power.

Hold Rod Rosenstein in Contempt and impeach him NOW!
