Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell stabbed American gun owners in the back. They just pushed through a new background check bill without any pro-gun attachments.

They left the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act -- the biggest pro-gun bill in American history -- on the cutting room floor. Instead, they gave the left exactly what they wanted.

Now, Ryan and McConnell are saying it's time to move on. They're saying it is time to just abandon the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act and move onto other issues.

The Congressional leadership left the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act on the cutting room floor. They chose only to attach the Fix NICS bill to the omnibus, abandoning the biggest pro-gun bill in American history.

When the Fix NICS proposal originally passed, it was attached to another common sense bill, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.

This legislation would allow licensed and permitted gun owners who are allowed to carry firearms in their home state to carry in all 50 states.

Currently, it is impossible for any citizen to carry in all 50 states. A minority of states are still refusing to recognize any out-of-state carry permits.

Right now, licensed gun owners have to learn the ins-and-outs of convoluted reciprocity agreements. They are allowed to bear arms in one state, but often must disarm before crossing into neighboring states. On top of that, Americans who live in states like New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, Hawaii, and California are flat-out denied the right to carry. These states don't believe in the right to bear arms.

This legislation would fix that by allowing all licensed law-abiding gun owners to carry nationwide. They would still need to obey each state's self-defense laws, but would no longer have to disarm themselves when crossing the state line.

Many of your colleagues are okay with letting this pro-gun bill die. They are okay with the 2nd Amendment becoming a 2nd class right. Instead of sending the full bill to Trump's desk, the leadership separated it and threw away the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.

I need to listen to me: This is unacceptable!

The answer to violence in this country is to empower law-abiding Americans to defend themselves. This bill would do just that.

You need to make a choice: either you stand with American gun owners or you stand against them. If you choose the latter, then you have lost my support and I will remove you!
