During a White House Press Briefing, Sarah Sanders was asked whether the President was considering a gun ban. Sanders said, and I quote, "We haven't closed doors on any fronts."

That was all the cowards in Congress needed. Republican turncoats are now working on legislation that finishes what Obama started, including a crackdown on semi-automatic weapons (so-called "assault weapons").

It only would take a handful of Republicans to side with the Left to pass this and so-called "conservatives" are already jumping ship.

The Parkland, Florida shooting was a tragedy that should have been prevented. Had the FBI done it's job when it received tips not once, but twice, the shooting would have been stopped.

However, instead of focusing on how the FBI dropped the ball, you and your colleagues are now focusing on how to restrict Americans' rights even further.

The White House was asked whether a new gun ban was on the table and Sarah Huckabee-Sanders said they "haven't closed doors on any fronts."

That was all your colleagues needed to begin drafting gun ban legislation.

Some members of Congress are pushing a new assault weapon ban. Others are supporting a plan to make it harder for Americans to purchase rifles like AR-15s. The most radical among you want to see a total gun ban.

You need to resist and block all of it. This shouldn't be a discussion about gun control. This debate should be over how to fix the FBI to make sure they never drop the ball again and over how to make our schools safer. That includes arming individuals -- either security guards or school staff -- to make sure that if a school shooter does show up, he's not the only person with a gun.

But if you jump on board ANY gun ban bill, you will have lost my support. You need to understand loud and clear that the American people will not allow you or anyone else to trample on our rights.
