Concealed carry reciprocity legislation has sat on Mitch McConnell's desk for 48-straight weeks. This is a shameful milestone.

The House Leadership tried desperately to block the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, even rescheduling it multiple times. They finally allowed it to pass with a bipartisan majority, confident that McConnell won't act.

Every day that you wait means more Americans are victimized, either by being forced to disarm when traveling across country or being arrested for refusing to give up their right to bear arms.

Holly Leach is a Colorado woman who was returning home from a long vacation in New York. At the airport, she tried to declare a firearm in her checked luggage. She owned the gun legally and was just trying to bring it home. But in New York, that qualifies as illegally carrying a firearm. She was arrested, charged with felony gun possession charges, and now faces a court date this month.

None of this would have happened if you passed the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would have protected her. It would have stopped police officers from throwing her in jail simply because she was trying to bring her gun home.

There are literally Americans who are facing felony charges because they had the gall to exercise their God given right to self defense in states that don't honor the 2nd Amendment. More than a quarter of all Americans live in states that refuse to allow them to bear arms outside of their homes. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act fixes all of this.

Under the 14th Amendment, you and your colleagues have an obligation to act when states refuse to respect Americans' rights and liberties. The 2nd Amendment is not a second-class right. It protects a right to bear arms and the Supreme Court has defined that as a right to carry a firearm. You have an obligation to force these anti-gun states to honor the right to bear arms. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act does just that.

I am demanding that you do everything in your power to put this bill onto Trump's desk NOW, by any means necessary! A right delayed is a right denied and if you are comfortable with Americans being jailed for exercising their rights, then you have lost my support.
