Rep. John Conyers had to be forced to resign after multiple credible allegations emerged accusing him of sexually harassing and assaulting women. He had been serving in Congress for 53 years and he still wanted to fight to keep his seat. He was such a career politician, that his half-century "service" could only be ended by accusations that he broke the law.

This is absolute madness. You and your colleagues are supposed to be "serving" the American people, not padding your own bank accounts.

Chuck Schumer has been in Congress for more than 36 years, Nancy Pelosi has been in the House for 30+ years, McConnell has been in the Senate for almost 33 year, and Paul Ryan -- though he is a lot younger than they are -- has been in Congress for 18 years already.

What good new ideas can someone possibly have when they've been in office for decades? How is it that these "public servants" are all estimated to be worth millions?

Ted Cruz has introduced a Constitutional amendment to put an end to this system. Under his "Drain the Swamp" constitutional amendment, Congress would finally be subjected to term limits. It would limit Congressmen to serving no more than three 2-year terms and Senators no more than two 6-year terms.

There is a reason that this amendment has sat collecting dust on Mitch McConnell's desk for 342 days. Mitch knows that if it passes, he's out of a job. The entire Congressional leadership would be forced out.

President Trump ran on a promise to "drain the swamp" and enact term limits in Congress. He won by a landslide, winning states that Republicans haven't won in almost three decades.

It is time to follow through with this agenda item and finish this!

This is going to happen. If not through Congress, than by an Article V Convention. If you pass this amendment, then you would have a say over the final product. But if you do not, We the People will take it out of your hands entirely!
