Your colleague, John Conyers, has been in Congress for 53 years. What new, fresh ideas could someone possibly have if they have held the seat for half a century? Now, even with all of these allegations of sexual assault spanning decades, Conyers is refusing to step down.

You see, when you get to be in office as long as him, it becomes less about serving the constituents and more about serving yourself.

The fact of the matter is that the Congressional leadership teams of both parties have been in office for decades as well. Chuck Schumer has been in Congress for more than 36 years. Nancy Pelosi has been in the House for 30+ years and McConnell has been in the Senate for almost 33 years. Paul Ryan is coming up on two decades.

What can someone possibly bring to the table after holding the same job for decades?

The fact of the matter is that every problem we have has been caused by the very people we are now entrusting to fix them.

It is time to clean house and Ted Cruz's Drain the Swamp amendment would do just that. It would restore Congress to the service model and end the practice of self-enrichment. Senators would be limited to serving just two 6-year terms and Congressmen would have to retire after serving 6-years in total.

This is going to happen. If not through Congress, than by an Article V Convention. If you pass this amendment, then you would have a say over the final product. But if you do not, We the People will take it out of your hands entirely!
