With the return of Steve Scalise, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act just gained its 214th supporter. In recent years, Scalise himself has authored versions of this legislation. If it came up for a vote, there is no doubt that he would vote for it. That puts us just four votes away from passage.

This legislation would overhaul the country's patchwork concealed carry reciprocity system and ensure that if someone is licensed or permitted to bear arms in one state, they are allowed to carry in all 50 states.

The 2nd Amendment's right to bear arms isn't just limited to someone's home state. It applies nationwide, just like the right to pray is protected across the country.

But the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act goes one step further. If someone lives in a state that doesn't believe in the right to bear arms, he or she would be able to get a non-resident concealed carry permit from a state like Utah and use that to carry nationwide... including in their home state.

This bill would dismantle a century of unconstitutional anti-gun laws. It would restore the right to carry for the tens of millions of Americans who live in states that arbitrarily block people from exercising their rights.

A quarter of all Americans live behind the gun control iron curtain. This bill would rip that curtain down and restore their right to bear arms.

You must pass this legislation. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has signed on as a co-sponsor. His committee is the one that will hear this legislation. This is going to happen. The only question is what side of history do you want to be on?

A vote should have already happened, but many in leadership got spooked after both the Congressional Baseball Shooting and the Las Vegas attack. But with Majority Whip Scalise's return and his full-throated commitment to the right to carry, there are no more excuses for inaction.

If a vote is held, this will pass.

Do you want to be part of the biggest civil rights legislation to come down the pike in years? Or will you try to block law-abiding Americans from exercising their constitutional rights?
