This month, you and your colleagues were supposed to vote on two major pieces of legislation.

The first is the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. This legislation eliminates the nation's patchwork system of reciprocity agreements and makes every single carry permit valid nationwide. If someone is licensed or permitted to carry a firearm in one state, then they would be able to do so in every state.

The second bill was the Sportsmen's Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act. Over the past 8 years, Barack Obama implemented a number of anti-gun and anti-ammunition executive orders. They include attacks on virtually every type of ammunition on the market, in addition to arbitrary import bans. This legislation would repeal those regulations and ensure that future Presidents are not allowed drag us down the same path. Additionally, the SHARE Act would remove suppressors from the purview of the National Firearms Act. That means that instead of paying exorbitant fees and having to wait months for approval, purchasers would be able to instead use the FBI's instant background check system at the point of sale. This is a much needed reform to a piece of legislation that was passed before most households even had telephones.

Both of these are common sense. Not only would they protect the 2nd Amendment by undoing a number of onerous and unnecessary anti-gun regulations, they would also preserve it for generations to come.

Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell have both signalled tere will not be a vote on Dianne Feinstein's latest gun ban bill. If passed, it would have banned thousands of guns and gun parts simply because they could be used to fire a weapon quickly. It would have resulted in a new assault weapons ban. So, that's over.

But the major pro-2nd Amendment bills that were de-scheduled have not been re-added to the calendar.

We the people are done playing defense. We are finished with accepting the status quo. It is not good enough to simply avoid passing any more gun control. It is important that you understand that I am grading your 2nd Amendment commitment not by what you refrain from doing, but what you actually accomplish.

Telling us that everything is going to remain the same is not good enough to keep our support.

You need to force a vote on both the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act and the SHARE Act. I don't care what it takes, you need to do it.
