In the last year of the Obama Presidency, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell's GOP Congress got 329 bills signed into law.

In the first year of the Trump Presidency, where Republicans control both chambers of Congress and the White House, only 60 bills have reached Trump's desk.

This isn't by accident. You actually need to try to get so little done, especially under a united Republican goernment.

The GOP leadership has spent the last eight months hiding behind the rules. They are telling the President there's nothing they can do. They're lying.

Under regular order, it takes 60 votes for a bill to pass the Senate. That is just seven votes shy of the practically insurmountable 2/3 majority needed to amend the Constitution.

But it doesn't have to be this way. The nuclear option would lower this threshold to 51 votes and allow bills to start reaching the President's desk. Without the nuclear option, eight Democrats are able to block any bill from getting a final vote.

We the People didn't serve the establishment the most shocking defeat in American political history just to sit back and watch you sit on your hands.

You want to blame the rules? Change the rules. Use the nuclear option and make it so that bills can pass the Senate with just 51 votes.
