Your mandate from last year's election couldn't be clearer. Put America and Americans first.

Putting America first means securing our borders, dismantling job-killing regulations, expanding and preserving the rights afforded to us in the Constitution, and putting decisions back into the hands of states and individuals.

That means repealing Obamacare and reforming the tax code to make it simpler and more competitive. It means securing the border and shutting down illegal immigration. That means reforming trade deals to put the interests of American manufacturers above third world countries.

None of this is possible, however, as long as Democrats remain committed to voting against each and every one of President Trump's proposals.

Right now, eight Senate Democrats have the power to kill a bill in the Senate. If eight Democrats vote against tax reform or the border wall, then the measures will fail to meet the Senate's cloture requirements. Eight opposition voices should not be allowed to negate the results of a democratic election. But that is exactly the reality we face.

These filibusters in the Senate also give Congressmen and women the political cover they need to vote against common-sense proposals. If a bill has a zero percent chance of making it through the Senate, then there is no urgency in the House to pass it and there is no pressure for moderate Democrats to break with their party.

The President of the United States is demanding a change. He is calling on you and your colleagues to amend the rules to allow legislation to pass through all of Congress with nothing more than a simple majority. I am joining President Trump and demanding this as well.

We have a unique opportunity to bring real change to Washington DC as well as the entire country. But as long as legislation can be blocked by just nine Democrats in the Senate, true change will remain out of reach.

You need to use every tool at your disposal to get this done. You have a unique opportunity here and you are squandering it. It has been 240 days of blaming the Senate rules. No more...

We the People notice this. We see that the agenda we voted for is not being prioritized.

The President has set a path forward. Use the nuclear option to dismantle the filibuster entirely and start putting bills onto the his desk.

This is what your constituents are demanding and this is what we will be voting on the next time your name appears on the ballot...
