The United Nations is now threatening legal action against the Trump administration unless the President reinstates Obama's catch-and-release policy for captured illegal aliens.

Since Trump was elected, the United Nations has used American taxdollars to undermine our sovereignty and go after our allies. Whether it is the Arms Trade Treaty, the Paris Climate Treaty, or now the demand for open borders, the United Nations thinks they can use your money to reinstate the liberal policies you defeated at the ballotbox.

The United Nations has not taken Hillary Clinton's defeat well. They anticipated 4-8 more years of walking all over America and undermining our sovereignty. Instead, they got President Trump's America First agenda.

The latest attempt from the UN to undermine our sovereignty comes from a demand letter from the UN Human Rights Council. They are demanding that we cease detaining illegal aliens caught crossing our border. The Council demands that the Trump administration reinstate Obama's catch-and-release program or else they will take the US to court for human rights violations.

This has to stop. Every month, there is something else. The American people voted loudly and clearly. President Trump won states that a Republican hasn't won since the 1980s. It wasn't the man that people voted for, it was his message: Put America and its interests first.

Right now, it is hard to imagine how it is in our interest to continue funding the United Nations when they just use that money to undermine us and our allies. When the UN was caught going after Israel back in December, Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham introduced a bill to cut off the United Nations' funding. Support was so bipartisan that even Chuck Schumer said it might be necessary.

The end of the fiscal year is fast approaching. Once you and your colleagues vote on next year's budget, funding will be locked in until next October.

You must put the Cruz-Graham bill up for a vote or attach it to a must-pass spending bill. For far too long, the American taxpayers have financed this organization's anti-American missions. That ends now.

If you will not vote to put America's interests first, I will have to vote for another candidate who will. That's not a threat... it's a promise. Defund the United Nations or you will have lost my support.
