Congress has accomplished NOTHING. No major legislative accomplishments whatsoever. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are leaving President Trump out to dry.

Now they want to go on vacation. They think that by going on vacation, they can run out the clock and get out of fulfilling the legislative promises they made to the American people.

There are 103 days between now and the end of the fiscal year. Based on the current legislative calendar, you and your colleagues plan to take off about sixty of those days.

I am writing to make sure you understand that is unacceptable.

Vacations are rewards for working hard. You haven't worked hard enough to receive a vacation.

The American people spoke loudly and clearly last November. There is no mistaking the agenda that they voted for. Yet, Congress continues to sit on its hands and do nothing.

Healthcare reform, tax cuts, immigration enforcement, completely fixing the VA, defunding the United Nations, the list literally goes on and on. After last week's horrible assassination attempt, you need to finally pass legislation to implement nationwide concealed carry reciprocity to ensure that ALL Americans can defend themselves.

You and I both know that the end of the fiscal year represents the best opportunity to get these agenda items signed into law. With must-pass spending bills on the horizon, it is imperative that you sit down and attach these issues as amendments to spending bills.

But you won't be able to do that if you are on vacation more than 50% of the time between now and the end of September.

You need to stay in Washington. You need to sit down and make sure that the agenda items the American people voted for reach the President's desk.

If you accomplish that, then you can go on all the vacations you want. But until then, you need to stay in Washington and get to work. Otherwise, We the People will find someone else to do the people's business...
